Harrogate lawyer bowled over

Harrogate lawyer Martin Blackham has been appointed honorary solicitor to the Nidderdale and District Amateur Cricket League.

Martin Blackham, a partner and head of the commercial department at Harrogate-based commercial and private client law firm, Barber Titleys, has recently taken up his appointment with the league which has fifty cricket clubs competing in eight divisions covering an area which stretches from Bolton Abbey to Northallerton.

His role will include offering a wide range of legal advice as and when required and sitting on the league’s disciplinary committee.

Martin Blackham is also president of one of the leading teams in the Nidderdale League, Knaresborough Forest, with whom he has played since 1978 and became president in 2005.

He says: “I am delighted to have been appointed and to be retaining my connection with the league in this way as my playing days are drawing to an end.”
